Editing and Writing Services
Whether you are an independent author or have a contract with a publisher, a small press or a major publishing house, I can customize a package of services that meets your needs and exceeds your expectations.
1
Ghostwriting
Synonyms or overlapping terms: Co-writing

Want to be a published author without writing a book? Yes, it’s possible! Through ghostwriting, I can help you create a book from work you’ve already done or knowledge you already have. All you need is the desire to add "author" to your job title and a collection of materials—articles, blog posts, white papers, podcasts, speaking transcripts, for example—that I can draw from. With that, we can generate a book plan together, and I’ll take the lead from there.
2
Book Doctoring
Synonyms or overlapping terms: Rewriting

Many authors wish to experience the act of writing their own book, but they aren't confident they have the skill or time to produce something publishable. This is where book doctoring comes in. I can take a very rough manuscript and shape it into a book with a compelling concept, a manageable scope, and a logical structure.
Connecting with your audience doesn't have to be a chore. Enjoy the freedom of writing at your own level and pace, and then let me mold it into the book of your dreams.
3
Developmental Editing
Synonyms or overlapping terms: Structural editing, substantive editing, content editing
No matter how how quickly a book's front cover catches a reader's eye or how powerful its main idea is, if the writing is tangled and the structure is weak, the book will quickly lose the reader and end up with a bad review. Even seasoned authors need help making sure their writing is organized, logical, and effective.
With developmental editing, I will examine and improve your manuscript's structure, style, tone, audience and genre fit, pacing, and more. Whether you're writing your first book or have several under your belt, with this service, you'll get the objective-yet-expert perspective that you need to make sure your transformative message actually makes it into your reader's mind and heart.
4
Copyediting
Synonyms or overlapping terms: Line editing

Research suggests that, in comparison to writing littered with errors, audiences perceive copyedited materials to be more credible and accurate, making them more likely to purchase those materials. Even without such evidence for the value of copyediting, most of us would rather read clear, concise, consistent, and coherent writing than we would the opposite. Couple that with the risk of unintentional plagiarism caused by inaccurate (or absent) citations and you have a pretty compelling argument for the importance of copyediting.
My promise is to make this stage of your book's journey as painless as possible by keeping your unique voice alive and well while making sure your message sticks out instead of awkward word choices or clunky sentence structures.

Publication Services
I love taking books all the way to the finish line. That means, in addition to offering editing and writing services, I also provide what I call book finishing services. Using something as simple as a Word document, I can transform your book into a clean, simple paperback, hardcover, or ebook and get it published for you.
1
Formatting for Print Books
Whether I edit your manuscript or not, I can turn it into a print-ready paperback or hardcover book. All I need is a Word, Google, or Pages document of your final manuscript draft. From that, I will format and typeset the interior pages and create a digital file you can use to publish on Amazon, IngramSpark, and other self-publishing platforms.

Important note: I do not provide cover design, photography, illustrations, or customized page layouts. If you need a book cover or your book requires a specialized design, I will gladly help you find the right designer from my network of trusted professionals.
2
Formatting for Ebooks
Given the popularity of digital reading devices, creating an electronic version of your book is a no-brainer. In fact, if you have a tighter budget, releasing your book in digital format only might be the best way to go. Regardless of whether you are also creating a print book, I can turn your manuscript into a professional-looking ebook that's accessible from all major e-readers.

Important note: I do not provide cover design, photography, illustrations, or customized page layouts. If you need a book cover or your book requires a specialized design, I will gladly help you find the right designer from my network of trusted professionals.
3
Proofreading
Despite how the terms are often used, proofreading and copyediting are not the same thing. If you need a professional to correct grammar, punctuation, and mechanics, you’re seeking a copyeditor. Proofreading comes after a book has been fully edited, designed, and formatted. It's an essential step for making sure none of your hard work goes to waste because a page is missing from the file or the typeface is too small to read.

Important note: I do not provide proofreading on a book for which I have completed copyediting. If I am your copyeditor, you will need a different proofreader to review the layout files, whom I will gladly help you find from my network of trusted professionals.

Publication Management
Publishing a book on Amazon or via IngramSpark is not as quick and simple as it may seem. Believe it or not, this process is time-consuming and highly detailed. For many authors, it's the most cumbersome, overwhelming, and confusing part of launching their book into the world, particularly for those who don't feel confident in their technical skills.
Let me manage the publication process for you. I've done it dozens of times, so I know which questions to ask and what mistakes to avoid. I've sorted through the truckload of information and the plethora of step-by-step guides so you don't have to.
